Missing You

On a windy Friday morning
You took our son and left
Though you gave me warning
It somehow felt like theft
Our once loud home is quiet
I even miss his cry
Won't try to deny it
I miss you, it's no lie
You're gone, but I do realize
You'll be home soon enough
I long to see your chestnut eyes
And feel your warm, sweet love

Kelli and Hank left me here in Boise, and though I enjoy and often crave alone time, I'm pretty dang lonesome. I miss my family. With all this free time (no wife ordering me around and no kid to cater to) I decided to get a new book (Protect and Defend by Vince Flynn, $4.25 at the local bookstore) and go shooting.

I loaded up my black powder gear, stopped off at the store for a few items I needed (namely percussion caps, lead balls, and wads) and headed off to the desert. I took some pictures with my fancy new phone:
The dirt road, leading out into no-mans land

Kevin, you're a dead man

Finally Kevin is firmly planted. In gale force winds, this was no easy task. I broke three rocks and damaged my finger pounding on that stake.

Damaged finger

All my gear. That gun sure is a beaut.

Poor Kevin took a beating today

Love my truck

Shooting from roughly 50 paces

Topped it off with a nice long swig of Martinelli's. No better way to end a day at the Range.

Yes, you definitely made the best of it! Looked like a very pretty day.

Things I learned from this post;

-you have a truck

-I want a Martinelli's...
